Gamification (explanation EN or NL), a technology where the player is more involved in the game. A good example of a specialization of Experience Economy. Actually you can link back many developments on Experience Economy therefore this specialization highlighted by two examples. These two examples I have encountered at the DDW ’11 at the TU Eindhoven. Two examples may be seen as one but come together under the specialization Gamification.
WHAT IT IS?
Marnick Menting, explored the potential applications for gestures. He created an interactive landscape with sheep, that you bring as a ‘giant’ to their stables. You do this by using your feet on the playing field.
The Wonderturf is an interactive playground. Only this field is made of artificial grass, and he is able to detect and to generate it’s own context. He is also able to let people participate actively and passively as adapt itself to humans.
Two examples that come together.
WHY IT’S COOL?
You can combine the two examples perfectly because the both of them are innovative and interactive play fields. People are searching for new developments like this interactive play fields. Because when the costumer participate with the game the are completely focused, so people can for example interactive lose weight, like the Wii Fit or Kinect. Also it can bring people together, to do stuff with each other outside. A real cool and attractive new example of interactive gaming, like gamification!
